KUBLACON HOSTS OUR FIRST EVER
KUBLACON GAMING AWARDS!!
The KGAs are something different, something very in the style of KublaCon. The qualities the KGAs represent are: fun, sincerity, and excellence.
- FUN: Each year the awards have a different focus, described in the awards title. One year the Tabletop Awards might be "Best dang meeple or bit". Next year it might be "The coolest dice in the world". We keep it light and changing.
- SINCERITY: While the titles of the awards change every year, and they may be silly or tongue-in-cheek, that actual games awarded are ones that deserve an award. There will not be „worst game‰ awards, degrading awards, nor will awards be given to games undeserving. Our goal is to have the people receiving the awards to be pleased to get them and for everyone to have fun during the process.
- EXCELLENCE: The games awarded will be fine examples of what we, as game lovers, enjoy in a game. If we feel there are no games deserving in a category in a year, we won‚t give out an award for the category that year.
Here are the winners from this year's 2007 awards!

Award: "Holy crud, we wish we had created this"
Winner: Pirates of the Mysterious Islands
Publisher: Wizkids
Designer: James Ernest, Mike Selinker
Comments: Even after all this time, it is still a fun and interesting process to take out the cards and put together the ships. It still feels inventive and new. So Pirates of the Mysterious Islands gets the KGA nod.
