Andy Jones of Games Workshop

Born in Romford of Welsh extract in 1963, Andy Jones was supposed to become first a rock star with Goth/Punk/Metal leanings, then an economist or perhaps even a lawyer, but fate intervened. His interest in Science Fiction and Fantasy, and a dalliance with early RPGs and skirmish games whilst at University prompted him to take a very poorly paid job with Games Workshop ‘to get it out of his system’ for a few months. That was in September 1986.

From Trade Salesman to Conventions Organizer, through designer (Man O War, Space Fleet, Warhammer Quest - and who can forget the Troll Games?), International Licensing and Legal (that lawyer thing again), computer games (Space Hulk, Shadow Of The Horned Rat etc), the inception of the Black Library, Fanatic, to keeper of the flame and evil mastermind for Games Workshop’s involvement with the wonderful The Lord of The Rings phenomenon, Andy Jones has...been around.

He counts himself as very lucky to have been blessed with such a varied and exciting career within a fantastic company, working with very talented and dedicated people. Currently Andy sits on the GW Group Executive, with direct responsibility for ‘everything that isn’t GW IP Tabletop Wargames’ - so that’s Novels, Comics, other books, licensing, RPGs, CCGs, Computer games, Partworks, Warhammer Historical and so on.

He lives in the Nottinghamshire countryside, with dogs, cats and long suffering girlfriend Jo, surrounded by an ever increasing collection of games, guitars and classic cars.

Andy come to us with the help of the local Bay Area Games Workshop Stores.
