Collectible Games

Get ready to kick butt Hong-Kong style!! ShadowFist CCG will be running all weekend. Whether you want be introduced to the great game of Hong Kong action movies, tune your deck for the weekend events or just play casually, this is an event for you. Demo decks will be provided and demo participants will receive promo cards.

Warlord CCG West Coast Championship - Some of the country's best players were on hand last year, and this year looks to be no different. When it comes to Warlord, this is THE event for the West Coast - be there. Also many other Warlord Tournaments will be run over the weekend.

A Game Of Thrones (AGOT) Kublacon Regional Championship -  a two-day AGOT Kublacon Regional Championship. Each player will receive at least one special tournament promo card and other prizes. Also other AGOT tournaments scheduled.

Universal Fighting System - UFS is a fast paced card game that simulates playing an arcade fighter. Take on the roll of your favorite Capcom, Namco, or SNK characters, lay down your foundations for combat, throw the signature attacks like Shoryuken or Sonic Boom, block your opponent, and KO your way to victory! Many tournaments will be run throughout the weekend with the Championship held on Sunday!  Cool prizes and some brilliant trophy swag.

Miniatures

Hi there everyone. I’m Jordan, the Miniatures Coordinator for Kubla Con this year, and we have some great events happening for you this year. One of the most exciting things coming this year is our Apocalypse Now event. This will be one of, if not the biggest Warhammer 40k events in the history of Kubla Con. It will involve 30 players, each bringing 2,000 points to the game. It should make for a massive battle and the table the players are playing on is incredible.

    Another event at Kubla Con that should blow people away is our Starship Trooper game. The game is set up to include 40 players. The GM’s for this game will provide all of the necessary figures. So all you need to do is bring your keen tactical sense and a good battle plan.

  Besides these great games we will be running a plethora of tournaments ranging from Warmachine to Warhammer 40k. There is a hole in the programming at the moment. This is in the world of Warhammer. Although we do have some games for Warhammer scheduled, I would love to see a tournament for Warhammer at the Con this year. So if anyone reading this wants to step up and run a Warhammer tournament we will be happy to work with you.

Tabletop Board Games

Boardgames at KublaCon 2008 will once again play host to Derk and Aldie of boardgamegeeks.com. They will be hosting tournaments, speaking to attendees and will join others in seminars about gaming.

This marks the sixth year of the Kniziathon Tournament. Attendees play any Reiner Knizia in a six hour period, racking up play points towards the ultimate win. Awards go to the top three finishers. Starting time has been moved to 9AM for all those late risers.

Days of Wonder will debut the new “Ticket to Ride” Card Game on Friday and Sunday. It delivers all of the excitement, fun and nail-biting tension of the original Ticket to Ride board game, but with several unique game-play twists in a new stand-alone, card game format. Don’t forget to signup early for this, as space is limited.

Mission Briefing for B-17: Queen of the Skies commences Saturday at 6PM. All flight officers are being asked to arrive early for group assignments. Mission Target will be revealed after base lockdown. Commander Ron Plunk will direct the briefing.

Young Players

Right around the corner is some of the best fun your young gamer has ever had! The Young Player's Room this year is filled to the bursting with GREAT games!

Come join us in Sandpebble A & B. The room has both open gaming (walk-in events) and scheduled events throughout the convention. Just bring your enthusiasm and play!! Or, come and learn some new games! The Young Players room provides organized play for game-playing children who want to learn and play age-appropriate games. Games here tend to be slightly less complex, with little or no experience required, but will vary depending on the overall needs and desires of the players. We are NOT a childcare center! Please, no unsupervised infants or toddlers. A responsible adult must be at the convention and reachable in case of an emergency.

Roleplaying

D&D 4E H1 Keep on the Shadowfell at Kublacon!

Yes you read that correctly there will be a D&D 4E event happening THIS YEAR at KublaCon!!! This is the Wizards of the Coast introduction module that is slated for release in May, H1 Keep on the Shadowfell.

Also Dave Martin of the Wrecking Crew (White Wolf Demo Team) is running an EXCLUSIVE, ADVANCED RELEASE, of the upcoming White Wolf, Hunter: the Vigil title.

This event is sure to be a hot one with all the World of Darkness 2.0 players out there. There will be special prizes for quality role playing & no prior experience needed. Dave will show you the ropes!
