Twas the night before Kublacon

Twas the night before KublaCon, at the Hyatt Hotel, Not a person was stirring, not even Jon Caudill. The tables were draped with clean linen and care, In hopes that games would soon be played there. The Staff was settled all snug in their beds, While dreams of dice rolling danced in their heads. With Japji in his kilt, and Anthony in his vest, We just settled in for our weekends only rest. When outside of the hotel there arose such a clatter, We rushed from our rooms to see what was the matter. We tore down the stairs with a thump and a crash. And away to the Foyer we flew like a flash, The bright moon shined through the skylight on high, And gave a glow to the place that made us sigh. When what to our wondering eyes should appear, But a giant cart pulled by elves in security gear. With a driver so big and a boisterous Ha Ha, We knew in a moment it must be Kubla! Kubla was in leather from his head to his boot, And looked like hed hurt you if you got underfoot. Burly and brash and sometimes very loud, He looked like a giant from a thundering cloud. But one fact we all knew about this mighty king, That Kubla loved games more than any one thing. More rapid than gamers on caffeine they came, Kubla chortled and shouted and called them by name. Now Peter! now Brenda! now Dustin and Jonathan! On Corey! on Dan! on Darby and Jason! |
Through the main lobby and with lots of zoom, Fill all the game tables in every room! So through the front doors this crew of one mind, Brought many big boxes with Kubla close behind! Then Kubla snapped his fingers with a loud click, And off his crew set up the games very quick. For all the game rooms, each and every one, They had many things that would bring lots of fun. For Doug and Heather they brought lots of boards, Made by Knizia and Teuber and other game lords. George and Jeffery were shocked by their looks, When they brought in mounds of RPG sourcebooks. Jeff and Jon were brought figurines by the mile, They teetered and tottered in such a large pile. Matt and Tom had gleaming grins on their faces, After seeing booster packs packed-in by the cases. They brought lots of copies of the new Heroscape, Much to Japjis delight and it made him gape. There were many other games, too many to count, And all this gaming goodness made us gleefully shout. They spoke not a word while they finished their work, And placed the other games with a smile and a smirk. When their task was done Kubla nodded in praise, And knew these good games will get many good plays. Outside Kubla rushed and he gave a loud whistle, And away his team ran as quick as a missile. But we heard them shout, ere they passed out of site, HAPPY GAMING TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOODNIGHT |
