Welcome to our fourth issue of the Khannections Newsletter!

Look up in the Sky, it’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a frog! (a frog???)
Not bird, nor plane, nor even frog, it's just little 'ole me, Kubla Khan…
(Editor Note…While Kubla is a very nice guy, he has never been known for his rhyming ability.)

Greetings and Salutations!

Welcome to another issue of our Khannections Newsletter. KublaCon is quickly coming and we are running out of time to get ready. Please don’t let that happen to you and make sure you get everything ready to go to attend this year’s event. Please visit our “Planning for 2005” web page to get more details.

Department Updates…

This year has soooooo much stuff going on it’s amazing we can squeeze it into one place. Tons of things are in the works and here are some updates that detail what’s going on from our department heads.

Tell a Friend…

We want KublaCon to be bigger and better then ever before and we need your help. If you have enjoyed KublaCon over the years, please tell your friends, family and loved ones (and don’t forget your father’s brother’s cousin’s former roommate) about us.

We are Family, I got all my gaming friends with me!

One of the best things we enjoy about producing KublaCon is the growing number of families attending our Convention. As the old saying goes, the family that plays together stays together and we hold that near and dear to our hearts.

We have also been strong believers in teaching games to children as it helps them learn to use their minds for more then just vegging in front of a TV set playing Xbox or watching Survivor reruns (ok, they don’t have any reruns yet, they all just look the same to us!).

The family atmosphere is evident in both our Young Players room and our Beginners Track. Both of these areas are geared for taking people who may have not played certain games (or any games for that matter) before and will introduce them to the various genres of gaming available at KublaCon.

So don’t be afraid to bring your friends and family to the Con and introduce them to the wonderful hobby of gaming.

Tell ‘em what they have won Johnny!

What’s one of the best things about KublaCon?  Is it seeing Japji or Anthony in their kilts (Yikes! All that white skin… aaaaahh, I’ve been blinded!!!) No, it’s the prizes of course. Oodles and oodles of prizes. We have just started to list some of the prizes that can be won at this year’s Convention and you can go here to check them out. We are working on a different way to award prizes this year, so stay tuned for next months newsletter to get  more details.

Choose! Choose the form of the Destructor!

The Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man??? No, but this month’s staff member is a force to be reckoned with anyways. He’s been a major figure in the Bay Area role playing community for many years now and he hasn’t let that go to his head (much). So in to this month's Ten Questions With... article, please meet one of our most outspoken members Scott Bagley.

Bruno has another victim… um er… volunteer here for ya boss.

Our Volunteer Coordinator, Angel Brockett is still looking for people to help out with the Con. She asks “Get more involved in Kublacon and become a volunteer!” You can save money by volunteering and get your registration back at the end of your 8 hour shift. Work with registration, help set-up or help tear-down are just a few of the things that we will need help with (there are MANY different jobs and times available!). Volunteers also get a cool green Kubla pin and 100 point priority registration slip to help get you into that game you really want to play.  If you with to help out at the Con, please contact Angel at:

volunteers@kublacon.com

Oh no! Say it ain't so...!

The rumors that have been circulating about a Monday only Flea Market... are True. Our incredible growth has forced us to make some hard decisions about the flea market. Read the details about the flea market... and get reports and comments about the change from the producers, our historical games coordinator, and our special events coordinator.

Well Folks, thanks for checking out our 4th issue of the Khannections Newsletter.

Take care, take it easy, and see you at the Con!

David Gabriel and Japji Khalsa- Khannections Editors

If you have any questions, comments or contributions for Khannections, you can reach the newsletter at: Khannections@KublaCon.com

The Fine Print: KublaCon does NOT sell, rent or share its mailing list with anyone else!  Please feel free to send this email to others who you feel might enjoy our Convention and help us spread the word on how fun KublaCon is. Grandma Bost says: "You can grow up, but whatever you do, don't ever grow old." and we can do that by playing more games!  OK Japji... Holy rolling of the Kubla-Matic™ Batman.  Time is slipping away with less then 3 months to go before the show! Better hurry and get that Kilt dry-cleaned!  Go Kubla! :o)
