Game Designer Special Guest
Ken Franklin has been a gamer since age 5, and started dreaming of publishing games at age 9. However, he decided that a career as a physician would pay more bills. He has a degree in Computer Science, an MD degree, and specialty training in Family Medicine. He served 25 years in the Army, which included deployment in Operation Desert Storm, Division Surgeon for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), and Deputy Commander at Keller Army Hospital, West Point. Ken retired in 2002 and worked in a rural Family Medical clinic for another 15 years, during which he resumed his hobby of game design. He retired from active medical practice in 2017, and realized his dream with the publication of Calliope Games’ The Mansky Caper. He has also collaborated with Chris Leder on the 2019 release Imagineers by MAPLE Games, and has several other titles in development. His motto is “I play to grin.” He and his wife Debi use community game nights as the focus of their Christian discipleship.
